Unwinding, Rewinding and Precision Slitting

A new process for
custom high-precision work

Discover our new process for unwinding, precision slitting, and rewinding, designed to handle web widths up to 2100 mm at both the machine entry and exit.

Precision slitting process
using razor blades

1. Unwinding

The illustrated process involves converting technical film rolls (2100 mm width) through unwinding, longitudinal slitting, and rewinding.

It is primarily used to adjust roll formats according to customer specifications or downstream production requirements.

2. Precision Slitting

The film is guided through a system of razor blades positioned to match the desired strip widths. In this example, the material is slit into four bands of 525 mm each.

This slitting method is particularly suited to thin and delicate materials, as it minimizes mechanical stress and prevents burr formation.

3. Rewinding

The slit strips are then individually rewound onto separate cores, ensuring constant tension and perfect alignment.

This process guarantees a clean finish, ready for use or further processing in subsequent operations.
